- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 inch ginger, crushed
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 black pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1 lemon Juice
- as needed Extra ghee while baking and making littis
Steps to make Baked Litti Chokha
- Make littis: In a bowl mix all ingredients mentioned, crush carom seeds between palms before adding. Mix them all well.
- Add water and knead a semi soft dough. Cover and set aside.
- Make chokha: roast tomatoes in a pan like me or on a grill. Take mashed boiled potatoes in a bowl.
- Remove the skin of tomatoes and mash, add to the bowl of mashed potatoes. Add seasonings and other ingredients.
- Mix all the Ingredients, taste and adjust seasonings accordingly.
- Make filling; mix all the ingredients, add tablespoons of water to bring the mixture together. It should form a ball if pressed between palms
- Assemble; Take a lemon sized ball of dough, make cavity and stuff a teaspoon of the filling. Pinch from edges and seal the dough.
- Place the balls in a greased baking tray. Apply some ghee. Preheat oven @200C
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the tray flip the littis and bake for another 15-20 minutes. Once you see the cracks on the littis, it means they are cooked from inside.
- Remove from oven and serve with melted ghee and prepared chokha. This can be packed for kids tiffin, so they can have nutritious meal at school
